Don’t miss the best expat conference in the world!
I am delighted to be going to the Families in Global Transition (www.figt.org)conference for the third time next year. I am even more delighted to have been invited to speak three times too! Firstly, Robin Pascoe (www.expatexpert.com) and I are doing a foundational session called Spouse 101, which will be interactive and a lot of fun. Then I am doing a presentation called Give Your Memories a Voice, which will talk about the Outpost Archive Centre (www.globaloutpostservices.com/archivecentre) in Den Haag, where I work part-time as a co-director. This session will introduce you to the value of preserving your writings about your expat experience and let you have a go at interviewing and writing during the class. And finally, on the last day, I am the closing lunchtime plenary speaker. My topic will be Doing Time on the Rollercoaster. I think you would find that a lot of fun too.
This truly is a great conference, held in Houston, and one that no-one should miss, whether an expat themselves, or involved in working with or for mobile families.
WHAT CAN you EXPECT from FIGT?
Families in Global Transition (FIGT) is changing the way global organizations think about the bottom-line impact of international relocations. By leveraging the experience, knowledge and research of successful international transitions, FIGT provides the resources which are needed to successfully manage all stages of cross-cultural relocation, both for the family and for the organization.
The 8th International Families in Global Transition Conference will offer comprehensive plenary and breakout sessions conducted by thought-leaders from around the world. Come see how (and why) FIGT has helped families and organizations reduce the time, cost, and stress associated with moving. The next dynamic FIGT conference will be held in Houston, Texas 29-31 March 2007. You can expect another A+ event!
